Our Events!

RPCV-GNY participates in some great work, social and educational opportunities in the New York City area. We have at least one gathering each month that is great for newcomers, returning friends and those we don't see often enough.

Complete event details are available to members through a Newsletter of the latest happenings and postings on our Facebook page (search for RPCVs of Greater New York). Please see our membership page for more information.

Saturday, October 18- Volunteer with the RPCV team 9:00AM

The RPCVs of Greater New York are going to participate in the New York Cares Day on Saturday, October 18 to help beautify a local school.  This is a day to help make public schools shine through a minimal amount of sweat and a whole lot of good cheer.  We have created a team but we have not yet been assigned a school.  We requested Manhattan and Brooklyn, so hopefully we will be centrally located.

Please take a moment to officially sign up to join the team.

You can register at  New York Cares Day

The team name is Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of NYC

Join us for our annual end-of-summer potluck picnic! It's a great chance to re-connect with the group after a busy summer. Bring something to share, and whatever you'd like to drink. We'll have plates, cups, and utensils.

We'll meet in Prospect Park. Take the Q to Prospect Park or Parkside. Enter the park and wal...k to the LeFrak Center (skating rink/splash pad). We’ll be on the grass just north of the rink next to the lake and will have a big Peace Corps sign.

Heavy rain cancels.

For more information or RSVP please contact Teresa at teresadevore@hotmail.com

We'll meet in Prospect Park. Take the 2/3 to Grand Army Plaza. Walk up hill through the large arch to the entrance to Prospect Park. People should enter Pros Park at Grand Army Plaza. Walk on the path that is on the left side of the road that goes into the park. Follow the path about 50 meters going through a tunnel straight onto the main lawn. We will be under the trees on the left hand side after you exit the tunnel.

Please call if you cannot find us.
Sunday, September 1, 12:30 PM. Heavy rain cancels.
